VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — The Vancouver Canucks will be getting back on the ice in just four short months. The team announced their 82-game schedule for the upcoming 21/22 season, which begins with a two week roadtrip.
Their first game will be in Edmonton against the Oilers on Oct. 13. The team will also be the first to play the newly created Seattle Kraken at the Climate Pledge Arena, on Oct. 23.
A new season is a fresh start for the team which saw a disappointing end to last season, after 21 players and four coaching staff tested positive for COVID-19, and the team failed to make the playoffs for the fifth time in six years.
Vancouver fans will get to see their team in action at the home opener, which will be on Tuesday, Oct. 26 against the Minnesota Wild.
It will be the first time fans will be in the stands in Rogers Arena to watch a game in more than 19 months, the team said.
