Naomi Onotera remains found; husband arrested, charged

A tragic end to a missing persons case, Naomi Onotera’s remains have been found and her husband is facing charges related to her death. Crystal Laderas reports.

IHIT has confirmed the body of a Langley mother and teacher has been found and her husband has been charged.

Naomi Onotera was last seen leaving her home without her car in August and her disappearance has sparked community-wide concern.

The homicide team was brought in to look at the case in September and IHIT says they along with forensic specialists searched Onotera’s home and found evidence.

“The Langley RCMP conducted an extensive missing persons investigation that lead to the determination that foul play was suspected,” a statement from IHIT reads.

Homicide investigators arrested a suspect Friday and confirmed Saturday the person has been identified as Onotera’s husband, Obnes Regis.

The 49-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter and indignity to human remains.

This matter is now before the Courts.
