B.C. records 1,785 new COVID-19 cases

B.C. has reported 1,785 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday, according to the province’s preliminary figures.
The Fraser Health and Vancouver Coastal Health regions once again account for the highest number of cases in the province.
There are 791 new cases in Fraser Health, 400 in Vancouver Coastal Health, 283 in Island Health, 269 new cases in Interior Health, and 42 new cases in Northern Health.

However, given that B.C.’s testing capacity reached maximum capacity last week, health experts say daily figures that are currently being released only show part of the picture.
The case count does not include positive rapid-at-home test results.
The province will release the number of deaths, hospitalizations, and an update on vaccinations on Wednesday.
