    Content warning: some may find details of this story disturbing. Former National League Hockey player Reid Boucher, has plead guilty in a Michigan court to the sexual assault of a minor back in 2011.

    An ex-Canuck, Reid Boucher, has plead guilty to sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl in 2011.

    He made the plea on Friday in a Michigan court, according to a report in the Detroit Free Press.

    Boucher was 17 years old at the time in 2011 when the assault took place, and was playing for the US National Hockey Team Development Program in Michigan.

    He will not face any jail time for now as part of the plea deal, with his sentencing hearing scheduled for Jan. 31.

    And since he committed the crime when he was a minor, the conviction won’t appear on his public record if he completes his sentence.

    Boucher played 48 games for the Canucks from 2017 to 2019, and spent time with the NHL’s Nashville Predators and New Jersey Devils.
