Man dies after Fraser Heights shooting Tuesday

One of the victims in Tuesday’s shooting in Surrey’s Fraser Heights neighbourhood has died from his injuries, the Surrey RCMP says.

The man was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition but did not survive, RCMP confirmed Thursday morning.

He and a woman were shot while they were inside a vehicle in the area of 104 Avenue and 168 Street. The woman remains in hospital in serious condition.

Officers say it happened around 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 8, and footage from the scene early Wednesday showed a car with a tarp over part of it as investigators canvassed the area.

The RCMP previously said Tuesday’s shooting was gang-related. However, Mounties have released few other details about the investigation or the shooting’s connections to the ongoing deadly conflict, which has spread far beyond the Lower Mainland.
