Loud weekend in Vancouver? Canucks to return to full capacity Saturday

As of Wednesday at 11:59 p.m., B.C.’s capacity limits on events will be lifted. That means thousands of fans can return to Rogers Arena on Saturday night when the Canucks take on the Anaheim Ducks in Vancouver.

Fans appear to be excited as tickets are selling fast, but the team is also looking forward to a fully packed arena for the first time in months.

“I think it will be awesome,” Canucks head coach Bruce Boudreau said.

“I hope the crowd is as loud as they can be. I know the players love it. We want to make this a difficult place for other teams to come in an have a little bit of success,” Boudreau said, pointing to fans in places across the league, like Winnipeg. “And Calgary can get loud. I’d certainly like to have them talking about Vancouver being the loudest crowd in the league and the toughest place to play, so that would be great.”

Canucks president Michael Doyle agrees.

“Our tickets are back on sale for 100 per cent of capacity, and it’s really great to have that back. We are really excited to have both fans back to cheer on the team and I know the players are really excited about having fans back in the building.”

While the restrictions on crowd size will be lifted, masks are still required and fans still must show their B.C. vaccine card to enter Rogers Arena as the provincial health orders remain in place surrounding proof of vaccine.
