A missing Saskatchewan girl, whose father is accused of abducting her due to not wanting her to get a COVID-19 vaccine, has been found safe in Vernon, B.C.
RCMP say the seven-year-old girl was found with her father, Michael Gordon Jackson, in a parked car outside of a business in the Okanagan city Thursday afternoon.
RCMP Sgt. Major Darryl Milo says the pair was alone when Vernon RCMP found them.
“Michael Gordon Jackson was arrested without incident. He remains in custody and will be returned to Saskatchewan for court proceedings,” Milo said.
He adds the girl will be reunited with her mother, who last saw her daughter in mid-November.
Michael Jackson is charged with abduction in contravention of custody or parenting order. He has previously said he was keeping her with him because he does not want his daughter to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
