Masks may no longer be mandatory in B.C.’s indoor public spaces, but some places are opting to continue requiring them.
The province-wide public health order was lifted at 12:01 on March 11. When announcing the end of this COVID-19 rule, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry said businesses and organizations can still ask people to mask up.
The University of British Columbia will require face coverings in all public, indoor spaces until at least April 30. SFU, on the other hand, says masks will be encouraged but not mandatory.
UBC will continue requiring masks to be worn in public indoor spaces on both campuses, until the end of the 2021/22 Winter Session on April 30, 2022. Learn more: https://t.co/beJZA9doGD pic.twitter.com/lRQ26zn7Ya

All courthouses in the province will also require masks, “until further notice.”

Masks are also required at airports, including YVR. However, that is because they are federally-regulated environments.
If you know of other places that have chosen to continue asking visitors or patrons to wear a mask, please let us know.
