Someone in Surrey has won $18M in the lottery

For the third time in the past five weeks a lottery ticket purchased in the Lower Mainland has won the jackpot.

Wednesday’s Lotto 6/49 draw scored for a stunning $18.7 million. The ticket was the only one purchased in the country to match all six winning numbers, and it was bought in Surrey.

In addition to the jackpot, a ticket purchased in the Penticton region won the $1 million guaranteed prize draw while a ticket purchased in Langley cashed for more than $58,000.

Lottery tickets purchased in the Lower Mainland have a combined $33 million total prize winnings since the beginning of March.
