The long weekend could be a little longer for some BC Ferries customers.
Four sailings on the Horseshoe Bay-Departure Bay run were cancelled Monday morning due to strong winds over Vancouver Island.

The affected sailings were those leaving those two terminals at 6:15 a.m. and 8:25 a.m.
BC Ferries says customer service is working to contact people with reservations on the cancelled sailings “to let them know if we have space available to fit them on an alternate sailing later in the day, or if their booking must be cancelled.”
Those with bookings that need to be cancelled will get a refund, BC Ferries says.
A wind warning was issued by Environment and Climate Change Canada for East Vancouver Island for Monday morning, with winds expected to reach up to 90 kilometres an hour before easing in the afternoon.
The cancellations Monday came after several sailings had to be scrapped last week because of COVID-related staffing issues and also some mechanical problems aboard one vessel.
