Person found dead after fire at Surrey encampment

A person has been found dead after a fire at an encampment in Surrey.
RCMP say firefighters were called Monday morning to the blaze at the camp on 120 Street near 88 Avenue.
“Unfortunately upon extinguishing the fire they located a deceased person. That person has yet to be identified,” said Cpl. Vanessa Munn with Surrey RCMP.
“Our general investigations unit is working in partnership with Surrey Fire Service as well as BC Coroner’s Service to advance our investigation and identify the deceased individual.”
Police have not said whether the death is considered suspicious.
