TransLink launching Bike Bus of Bridgeport Station to Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal for summer

Cyclists will now have another option to get from Richmond to the Tsawwassen Ferry terminal.

TransLink is launching a bike bus, with room for nine bikes, instead of the regular two.

It will travel on “one of the most popular routes for our cycling customers” between Bridgeport Station and the Tsawwassen ferry terminal starting July 1 until September 5 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Currently, cyclists rely on a shuttle that takes them from one end of the Massey Tunnel to the other on their way to or from the ferry terminal.

“The return of warm weather means more people are cycling to their favourite B.C. destinations,” TransLink CEO Kevin Quinn said.

There will be hourly departures that align with ferry sailings to Swartz Bay.
