Hundreds of tickets issued, dozens of vehicles towed on Canada Day in Ottawa

Ottawa By-Law says hundreds more tickets have been issued for violations during Canada Day celebrations.
In a tweet, By-Law says more than 400 parking tickets were handed out and more than 100 vehicles towed away since 8 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29.

Several tickets were also issued for unauthorized use of fireworks, encumbering and piling material on highways, and for unlicensed mobile refreshment vehicles.
Several downtown streets will remain restricted as the motor vehicle control zone remains in place until Monday, July 4.
The streets within the zones will not be closed. Residential and business traffic, as well as pedestrians, cyclists, and public transit are permitted to enter and exit the controlled area.

July 1, 2022 marked the first time in-person Canada Day celebrations were held since 2019.
