The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team confirmed Monday that the suspect linked to Thursday’s double homicide in Chilliwack has been found dead.
Fifty-year-old Eric John Sheshtalo was found near Bridal Falls after a four-day manhunt. Police say he died of self-inflicted gunshot wounds.
Sheshtalo shot and killed two women and left one man with non-life-threatening injuries at a Chilliwack home on July 21st. Police shared the victims’ names Monday, identifying them as Mimi Kates and Amber Culley.
“She was the most loving, generous, compassionate & brave human being we have ever known,” Amber’s family said in a statement.
“We will miss her madly but we will never let a murderer put out her bright light or destroy our little boys’ lives. Her children were her world.”
The family thanked family, friends, and police for their love, support, and respect.
