Thick smoke covers South Vancouver in afternoon house fire

Black smoke was plainly visible from Richmond after a fire broke out in a South Vancouver residential neighbourhood Wednesday afternoon.
It started at around 4:50 p.m. in the area of Columbia Street and 63rd Avenue, near Marine Drive.

In videos posted to both Twitter and Reddit, flames can be seen coming from a house, with thick smoke pluming over the neighbourhood.
While the number of buildings on fire remains to be confirmed, video shows the fire may have jumped onto nearby properties
