Suspected flasher at Lynn Canyon Park arrested

A man has been arrested after reports of a flasher at Lynn Canyon Park in North Vancouver last week.

The RCMP says on the evening of July 31, park rangers were told a man was exposing himself to hikers. Mounties went to the park and say as officers were searching the area, they received another report of the same thing happening near the 30 Foot Pool.

“Shortly thereafter, RCMP located and arrested a man matching the description provided by witnesses,” the North Vancouver RCMP said in a statement. “The man, who is in his 30s and is a resident of Delta, was subsequently released on conditions that include not to attend Lynn Canyon Park.”

Police are looking to speak to the person who first reported the incident to park rangers before the information was passed on to the RCMP.

“If you are the person who advised Park Rangers of the indecent act on July 31, we are asking for you to contact North Vancouver RCMP at (604) 985-1311,” said Cpl. Melissa Jongema.

Any other witnesses are also asked to give investigators a call.

Jongema adds police will “continue to conduct regular patrols in District of North Vancouver parks throughout the summer.”
