On Aug.5 Campbell was initially arrested in relation to the homicides, and has remained in custody since.

“This was a complex investigation that came together as a result of the dedication of IHIT’s investigating team and the strong partnerships with the Surrey Detachment, CFSEU BC and the public. We are aware of the public concern regarding the recent daytime shootings. We are grateful that no innocent bystanders were injured during the incident,” Sgt. Timothy Pierotti of IHIT said. “Though charges have been laid, the investigation continues and we still urge anyone with information to come forward.”

IHIT is asking that witnesses and anyone with dashcam video who attended the area of the South Surrey Athletic Park between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on July 30, or anyone who has any information regarding the shooting, to contact the IHIT Information Line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
