Surrey homicide charges laid after May shooting

A second-degree murder charge has been laid in connection with a Surrey shooting that left one man dead in May.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says a suspect, Bradley Minchin, was arrested last week in connection with Michael Brown’s death.
Mounties were called to the area of Grosvenor Road, east of King George Boulevard, just before 10 a.m. on May 21. When officers arrived, they found a man, who has since been identified as 58-year-old Brown, who had been seriously hurt.

Brown was taken to the hospital but died of his injuries days later.
IHIT released his name to the public with the hopes of gathering more information about what happened.
Homicide investigators say Minchin was arrested in connection with Brown’s death with the help of Vancouver police on Aug. 24.
