2 arrested after attempted abduction in Chilliwack

Two people have been arrested after they allegedly tried to force a man inside a vehicle trunk in Chilliwack Sunday morning
Chilliwack RCMP say it happened at around 9:15 a.m. when they received reports of an attempted abduction on Elk View Road, right after it forks off from Bailey Road.
Witnesses told RCMP there was a fight involving two men and a woman, and one man attempted to push the other man into the trunk. The victim was able to escape away on foot.

Soon after, Chilliwack RCMP located and arrested a 29-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man in connection to the attempted abduction.
“It is important to note that this was a targeted incident and that the parties involved were known to one another, says Sgt Krista Vrolyk, with the Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment.
“The 911 calls received from witnesses and the video footage they provided of the incident were key to this investigation.”
The 29-year-old woman has been released while the man was set to have a court appearance Wednesday.
