A man was found unresponsive in a running vehicle Tuesday morning and subsequently died, Surrey RCMP says.
Mounties say a man was reported passed out in a running vehicle near 127 Street and 96 Avenue around 9:30 a.m.
Officers say they arrived and found the man unresponsive.
First responders tried to save the man, who had sustained injuries according to police, but he was pronounced dead shortly after.
“Criminality is believed to be a factor,” RCMP said in a news release.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is working to figure out the identity of the man and what led to his death.
IHIT will release more details when they are available.
Officers say the surrounding area will be closed for a significant amount of time, and traffic in the area is being rerouted.
Anyone with further information who has not already spoken to police is asked to contact the IHIT info line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448)
