Man shot with crossbow in downtown Vancouver, police say

A man is being treated in hospital after being shot in the chest with a crossbow bolt in downtown Vancouver on Saturday, according to police.

The reported assault was around 4 p.m. near East Hastings and Carrall streets.

Police say one suspect ran away and has not yet been found.

“At this point, we believe the victim was targeted,” VPD said on social media. Adding their investigation efforts are focused on the encampment at Carrall and Hastings.

Police have provided very little information around the incident and say “we will provide more details when they are available.”
