Traffic through Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge affected by crash

Traffic lights along Lougheed Highway were flashing red for five hours Tuesday morning, causing significant traffic disruptions.
Lights were out from 4 a.m. to 9 a.m. Tuesday morning due to a car crash. Vehicles were backed up from Harris Road in Pitt Meadows all the way to Maple Ridge.

An incident left the westbound right and left lanes blocked just west of the 200th Street exit in Langley. Vehicles were able to pass in the HOV line.
However, it didn’t help during rush hour, as drivers’ commute times doubled or tripled.
Crews installed a temporary signal to try and get things moving. After 9 a.m., traffic lights were finally back to normal.
The province says a new signal will be installed tomorrow.
