Snowfall warning issued for Metro Vancouver

Locals can expect to see snow on Saturday night, as a snowfall warning is now in place for Metro Vancouver.
Environment Canada says locals could see 5 to 10 centimetres, and in the Fraser Valley up to 20 centimeters.

It says an arctic front is set to bring in the flurries, beginning tonight and into Sunday.
The snow is expected to be heaviest around midnight.

On top of the white flakes, you will need to bundle up with some wind chills dropping the temperature as low as minus 15 to 20 in the Fraser Valley.
“Strong easterly outflow winds will accompany the arctic front producing areas of reduced visibility. Very cold windchills as low as minus 10 degrees will occur by later Sunday afternoon for Metro Vancouver regions,” Environment Canada said.

It adds that drivers can expect slippery roads, and to be careful to watch for changing road conditions.
“Due to the rapid cooling through the day due to the arctic front, wet exposed surfaces on roads and sidewalks could freeze rapidly and become hazardous. Exercise extra caution if out driving, or walking,” it added.
