As a blast of winter coincides with the busy holiday travel season, Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is dealing with delays and other issues.
In a series of tweets, the airport says it is looking to “operate at the highest safety standards,” as a snowfall warning has been issued for much of the Lower Mainland.

The airport says teams are working with “many partners” to clear snow and ice from taxiways and runways, as well as de-icing aircraft.
“We have mobilized all available staff — our teams are stationed throughout the terminal to answer questions and even provide refreshments for travellers,” the airport tweeted.
YVR says there may be flight delays and cancellations as a result of the conditions, advising people to check the latest details of their flights on their website.
