‘Highway Thru Hell’ star involved in B.C. highway crash

A star of the Discovery Network show Highway Thru Hell was involved in a crash on Highway 5, less than 200 kilometres north of Kamloops, this weekend.

According to a statement posted by the show online, neither Jamie Davis, who has been a long-standing part of the docuseries nor any other person involved in the collision were hurt.

The statement says the crash, which involved multiple vehicles, was “caused by seasonal weather conditions” early Sunday just outside of Avola.

“Davis was working on a long-haul towing operation at the time of the collision,” the statement reads, adding Highway Thru Hell production crew were not on scene at the time.

“Great Pacific Media is grateful that there were no injuries as a result of the accident and is thankful for the many responders working on getting the highway safely reopened.”

B.C.’s out-of-town highways have seen severe conditions in recent weeks, with big winter storms bringing heavy snowfall to various parts of the Southern Interior.

Wintry conditions prompted the province to issue warnings for some highways, adding avalanches were possible in parts.
