B.C. RCMP say three men have been arrested following the discovery of a “drug super lab” in Abbotsford.
Mounties say the term is used for big-scale, highly organized labs, usually tied to organized crime.

On Saturday, a specialized team of officers searched two properties, one in Abbotsford and the other in Surrey.
It’s unclear if officers found anything at the Surrey location, but in Abbotsford, police found a large amount of drugs.

Police say the lab showed evidence of a “synthetic drug operation” that was producing fentanyl, ecstasy, and cannabis extracts.
Mounties add that the amount of fentanyl found could have produced 50 kg of pure fentanyl, adding doses of 2 milligrams can potentially kill people.
“The pure fentanyl seized during this investigation could have amounted to over 27 million potentially lethal doses of fentanyl,” a news release from the RCMP said.

“Access and availability to toxic drugs is a primary factor in many deaths. These drugs come from unsanctioned, uncontrolled, and profit driven facilities. Out of the thousands of loved ones lost to the toxic drug supply, it seems especially tragic that many of the perished have been young Canadians who would have otherwise had their entire lives ahead of them,” Supt. Bert Ferreira with the BC RCMP said.
“This is why we are unequivocally committed to preventing toxic opioids from destroying more lives, causing more grief, and threatening the future of our nation”
