A small, private funeral service was held in Nelson, B.C. for a local police officer killed in a backcountry avalanche last week.
Nelson Chief Cst. Donovan Fisher told the service they had been talking about promoting Tittemore before he died, so the decision was made to go ahead with that plan.
“In recognition of his hard work, dedication and skills…it’s my honor to posthumously announce Cst. Tittemore promotion to Detective Tittemore.”

His sister-in-law also told the crowd that Tittemore had a gentle soul, a kind demeanour, and was full of integrity.
Tittemore’s coworker Cst. Mat Nolet was also caught in the avalanche, and is still hospitalized in intensive care.
