Vancouver homicide victim in DTES identified
Vancouver police are identifying the victim of a homicide in the Downtown Eastside last month.
On Jan. 17, the VPD responded to reports of a body at an SRO near East Hastings Street and Carrall Street just before 7 a.m.
Police have identified 20-year-old Thunder Dennis as the man who was found dead inside the West Hotel.

According to court documents, a person with the same name had been charged with assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm on Dec. 9.
They were scheduled to appear in court the day before the body was found in the SRO.
Investigators continue to look into the circumstances around the homicide.
