Coquihalla Highway winter storm warning

A winter storm warning has been issued for the Coquihalla Highway starting Sunday.

Environment Canada says 25 to 35 centimeters of snow is expected from Hope to Merrit.

The weather service says hazardous winter conditions are expected due to a Pacific frontal system bringing a wave of snow to B.C.’s Interior.

Environment Canada says travellers should consider postponing non-essential travel as roads could be dangerous with changing weather conditions.

Travellers are also adviced to prepare and adjust their driving behaviour and use winter tires and chains.

The snow is expected to taper off on Tuesday afternoon.
