Burnaby stabbing leaves teen hurt: RCMP

A 15-year-old boy is recovering after being randomly stabbed Monday night in Burnaby, Mounties say.

Corp. Mike Kalanj with the Burnaby RCMP says the teen was stabbed near Willingdon Avenue and Central Boulevard around 5:30 p.m.

“Someone had run into one of the businesses and told staff that they were stabbed,” Kalanj said.

“The suspect is outstanding. We are looking to identify them, so we’ve done canvases for video surveillance,” he added.

Kalanj says the youth was taken to the hospital with minor and non-life-threatening injuries.
