Zellers opening in B.C. early April

We’ve been waiting a while, but we now know when people can go to Zellers in B.C.

The company says the four locations in this province, which are located within certain Hudson’s Bay (HBC) stores, will be open to the public on April 4.

Launches have already taken place in Ontario and Alberta, where long lines could be seen on opening day.

The good news for nostalgic shoppers is the store is re-opening. The bad news is the Zellers Diners on Wheels won’t be available, yet.

“Not to fret, they will be back on the road and pulling up in all these communities over a series of days. Schedule to be announced soon!” the company said in a statement.

The menu will include the Big Z Burger, hot chicken sandwich, grilled cheese, chicken fingers, and fries and gravy.

HBC says there will be anchor categories at the launch, including basic clothing, houseware and home décor, furniture, small appliances, toys, and pet accessories. It’s also promising its list of offerings will eventually grow.

In B.C., Zellers will be re-opening in the Pacific Centre in Downtown Vancouver, Guildford Town Centre in Surrey, 7 Oaks Shopping Centre in Abbotsford, and Aberdeen Mall in Kamloops.

Zellers initially closed its doors across the country in 2013.
