Port Coquitlam pothole filling campaign set for this week

Port Coquitlam is targeting potholes in a blitz starting this week.
This is after city crews discovered 158 potholes over three separate inspections. The city says this blitz is the first of its kind, and will be conducted once drier weather arrives at the end of this week, Thursday and Friday.
Mayor Brad West says this work is about investing in and maintaining the city.
“We continue to make investments in our roads and frontline services like pothole repairs. It’s about getting the basics right and delivering the core city services that matter to our community and what residents and businesses pay property taxes for,” he said.
So far, the city says crews have repaired 409 potholes since Jan. 1, and 1,400 in 2022. These crews are made up of staff who maintain the roads, clear snow, sweep streets, and conduct other maintenance and roadway safety work.
West is asking for the public’s help to fill potholes.
“We encourage residents to help by reporting potholes online so that City crews can repair them as soon as possible.”
Work on filling potholes during the blitz will take place from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Staff will meet again Friday to determine whether more time is needed.
