Pedestrian dies from injuries after Maple Ridge collision

Mounties say the crash that shut down Lougheed Highway through Maple Ridge for much of yesterday has turned fatal.

Police say at around 10:40 a.m., they got a report about a speeding vehicle in the westbound lanes, going the wrong way. That vehicle then hit a curb, a pedestrian, and another vehicle.

In an email to CityNews, BC Emergency Health Services said five ambulances were called to the area.
