Environment Canada issued a special weather statement in Metro Vancouver for heat later this week and next week.
They say the unseasonably hot weather will start Friday, with temperatures rising 10 to 15 degrees above the daytime average for this time of year.
Environment Canada says we won’t be getting a lot of relief at night either, as overnight lows should still be five to 10 degrees higher than normal.

The peak temperatures in this weather statement are expected to come Sunday and Monday.
Metro Vancouver won’t be alone in getting unseasonably hot weather either, with B.C.’s Interior and Vancouver Island among the other areas expected to heat up.
Temperatures rising throughout the province can cause increased snowpack melting as well, presenting additional flood risk in some communities like Cache Creek, which has already seen heavy flooding this month.
