A mix of helicopter sounds and road closures around Coal Harbour is happening Friday morning, as Rogers begins its makeover of the former Shaw Tower in downtown Vancouver.
The helicopter is being used to remove the old Shaw Communications sign from the tower as after the recent takeover of the telecommunications company, Rogers is rebranding the building on West Cordova and Burrard streets.

The helicopter is also bringing parts of the new sign to a nearby staging area.
Road closures are in effect on West Cordova and Thurlow streets, along with West Waterfront Road from about 7 a.m. until 12 p.m.
The helicopter will be back next week when it installs the new Rogers sign on the tower.
