Vancouver ‘targeted’ shooting leaves one man dead: police

The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) are investigating a homicide after one man was shot and killed early Sunday morning.

Police say the “targeted” shooting happened outside a South Vancouver banquet hall near Fraser Street and South East Marine Drive around 1:30 a.m.

The 28-year-old victim has not yet been identified.

“Patrol officers performed CPR on the victim until paramedics arrived, but he died from his injuries,” VPD said in a release Sunday.

Investigators believe the violence is linked to B.C.’s ongoing gang conflict.

Anyone with information about this incident is being urged to contact the VPD’s Homicide Unit at 604-717-2500.
