Vancouver shooting leaves 1 man seriously hurt: police

Police in Vancouver say a man in his 30s is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was shot on the Downtown Eastside Saturday evening.

Investigators believe the shooting happened inside a building in the area of East Hastings Street and Princess Avenue around 7:15 p.m.

According to the Vancouver Police Department (VPD), the victim was found outside and taken to the hospital.

One person was arrested and police say investigators “are working to determine if there are additional suspects at large.”

Police are asking anyone with information to call the VPD’s Major Crime Section at 604-717-2541.
