A massive house fire in Vancouver’s West Point Grey neighbourhood drew about 30 firefighters Saturday morning.
Vancouver Assistant Fire Chief Keith Stewart says the home on West 12th Avenue near Tolmie Street caught fire around 5 a.m.
The occupants of the home were outside by the time crews arrived, he explains.

“The fire, the home was heavily involved and at the time. We were able to get water on the fire quickly, however, it did go through the roof, and fire crews were on scene for a couple of hours.”
Stewart says crews are still at the home putting out hot spots.
No one was found to have injuries, Stewart says, and fire investigation teams are working to determine how the fire started.
“There was homes on both sides, and we did our best to protect the exposures on both sides. I believe that there was a little bit of water damage to one of the homes on one side.”
