Pedestrian dies after Surrey hit and run: RCMP

Mounties in Surrey say a pedestrian who was hit by a car on Saturday has died of his injuries.
According to the RCMP, the crash happened just before 12:40 a.m. on 128 Street, between 82 and 84 avenues. Police say the 31-year-old man was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where he later died.

The Surrey RCMP is appealing to the public for help in finding the vehicle and driver that fled the scene. Alcohol and speed “have not been ruled out” as contributing factors, Mounties said Saturday.
The suspect vehicle is described as a blue sedan with front-end damage. Police say it was last seen travelling northbound on 128 Street.
“Investigators know that there were multiple people on scene, some that may have witnessed the collision or arrived shortly after,” said Corp. Vanessa Munn.
