Pattullo Bridge lane closures for Friday, Saturday nights

The northbound lanes of the Pattullo Bridge will be closed Friday night and Saturday night as part of ongoing replacement project work.

TransLink, which owns the bridge, says lane closures are necessary so crews can install steel girders near the existing bridge.

The lanes will be shut from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each day. TransLink says the Pattullo will remain open to pedestrians and cyclists during that time.

Traffic control personnel will be on scene to help direct motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists. The transit authority says signage will also indicate pattern changes.

Buses will be detoured during the closure times. TransLink says the N19 NightBus and route 103 trips will be affected and will tkae the Alex Fraser and Queensborough bridges to get between the New Westminster and Scott Road stations.

The detours are expected to add travel time, so customers are being asked to plan ahead for up to 30 minutes more travel time.
