The Costco in Richmond was evacuated after a fire in an electrical panel Thursday afternoon.
According to Richmond Fire Deputy Chief Al McGrath, the fire was put out with a dry-can extinguisher.
“It didn’t extend beyond [the panel], so they’re just monitoring the hot spot now. The evacuations were as a precaution due to electrical fire and security concerns. When the electrical goes down it compromises all the other systems,” he explained.
