Abbotsford pedestrian dead after crash

A 35-year-old pedestrian has died after a collision involving a motor vehicle in Abbotsford Tuesday night.

The Abbotsford Police Department explains its officers responded to reports of the incident at Gladys Avenue near Essendene Avenue just before 11:30 p.m.

Police say when they arrived at the scene, they found the man with serious injuries. Despite efforts from BC Ambulance Service and Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service members, the man died at the scene.

“The driver of the motor vehicle remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Impairment was determined not to be a factor,” Const. Art Stele said in a statement Wednesday.

Police are now asking for anyone who may have been in the area, who has dashcam footage, or any information about the incident, to contact the AbbyPD on 604-859-5225.
