If you’re staying in town, it’s time to get your last good dose of Vitamin D this Thanksgiving weekend in Metro Vancouver.
CityNews Meteorologist Michael Kuss says the timing for a ridge of high pressure could not come much better for this long weekend.
“Aside from patchy morning fog Saturday, expect sun through Sunday afternoon. The temperature will be better than warm, bordering on hot Friday and Saturday,” he explained.
What a sunrise in White Rock. This image from about 20 minutes before sun up. We'll have Sun across the Lower Mainland through Sunday afternoon with highs as hot as 25 degrees #happythanksgiving @CityNewsVAN @jack969 pic.twitter.com/xdbuCmUSJQ

Kuss says while the region might not set any new records, it’ll be close.
“The record high for October 6th is 20.6 [degrees] at YVR and for the seventh, 21.1 [degrees],” he said. “October 6th record high for Abbotsford is 26.7 and for October 7th it’s 26.1.”
And if you’re thinking of deep-frying a turkey outside this year, you might want to shoot for Sunday, as Kuss says rain will begin to roll in on Monday.
“Enjoy the sun and heat while it lasts. Tuesday could be the wettest day we’ve had in months.”
