Mounties are hoping whoever stole an urn from a parked car in North Vancouver last week will do the right thing and return the ashes.
The RCMP says it received multiple calls about vehicles being broken into along W 21st Street around 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 15.
When they arrived, officers found out from one of the victims that her husband’s ashes were among the items taken from a white Kia Forte in the area.
Despite a search of the area, the urn was not found.
“Obviously, this is something of a great sentimental value to the owner and we are hoping the perpetrator will do the right thing and return it,” said Const. Mansoor Sahak.
The RCMP is also turning to the public to help reunite the woman with the urn, which has a date of 09-09-09 on it.
Anyone with information about where the urn might be is asked to contact the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311. You can also anonymously report a tip to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
