Charges laid in 2022 South Surrey shooting

Homicide investigators say charges have been laid in connection to the shooting death of a 33-year-old man in South Surrey last year.

The incident happened at a home in the area of 152A Street and 24 Avenue around 1:30 a.m. on April 6, 2022.

First responders arrived to find a man who had been shot, noting that “due to the serious nature of his injuries,” he was not expected to survive.

The victim, identified later as David Goldstein from White Rock, died in the hospital.

In an update Wednesday, the Lower Mainland’s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says 27-year-old Bryce Dallas Campbell has been charged with first-degree murder.

At the time of Goldstein’s death, investigators said the incident did not appear to be random.

Staff Sgt. David Lee added Campbell is being held in custody for two counts of second-degree murder and one count of attempted murder relating to a separate shooting in South Surrey in July 2022.

Campbell was charged with those offences on Aug. 5 relating to the double homicide at South Surrey Athletic Park.

On July 30 just before 3 p.m., Jordan Krishna and Robeen Soreni were killed, while a third person, Harbir Khosa suffered life-threatening injuries. All received gunshot wounds.

“IHIT wishes to recognize the assistance of its partners at the Surrey RCMP, the Integrated Forensic Identification Section (IFIS), and its own team of dedicated investigators and detectives,” the homicide team said.
