Inclement weather warnings issued for island, interior

Residents in the southeast and southwest regions of the province are being told to brace for inclement weather this weekend.
Environment Canada says Victoria and the western coast of Vancouver Island can expect winds of up to 80 kilometres per hour, with gusts of up to 100 kilometres per hour, through to Sunday morning. This includes Tofino, Ucluelet, Port Renfrew, Sooke and the Jordan River area.
It adds these winds will be strong enough to knock power out.

And in B.C.’s southern interior, a freezing rain warning is in the forecast for Saturday evening through to Sunday morning.
The Environment Canada warning includes the Shuswap, Okanagan and Boundary regions.
Major highways such as the Coquihalla Highway, between Hope and Merritt, and Highway 3, between Hope and Princeton, are covered by the freezing rain warning, the weather agency states.
