Surrey police search for suspects after weekend robbery

Surrey police are searching for suspects after a robbery at a business Sunday evening.

Police say just before 8 p.m. they received a report of a robbery on 176 A Street in Surrey’s Cloverdale neighborhood.

Two suspects, dressed in all black, entered the store and stole a variety of items before fleeing the area, police say.

Cpl. Vanessa Munn says police cannot confirm if the suspects were armed.

“Whether or not they were armed or what they were armed with all forms part of the evidence in the ongoing investigation, which is still in the early stages,” Munn says.

Munn says police don’t have a specific value for the items stolen yet, as the business still has to conduct a full inventory. She could not confirm the name or type of business with CityNews.

Munn did add that no injuries were reported and only one employee was in the store when the robbery took place.

“Currently investigators are working to obtain additional statements from potential witnesses, as well as canvassing for additional video in an attempt to identify the suspects involved,” Munn said.

Surrey Police say the suspects have yet to be located.
