Vancouver Canucks superstar Brock Boeser has finally met the Burnaby woman who he helped win $100,000 for in early October.
During the team’s home opener on Oct. 11, Boeser scored four goals, which meant that Frances McAuley won the second prize in the Save-On-Foods home-game giveaway.
The grocer offered a $1 million jackpot to a customer if any Vancouver player scored five goals in one game, and $100,000 if anyone scored four goals.
“It’s about time,” said Darrell Jones, president of Save-On-Foods, when McAuley won the prize. “Frances is a loyal Save-On-Foods shopper. She’s been shopping here since the very first day the [Willingdon] location opened.”
Boeser and McAuley got to meet on Monday as seen in a post on the Vancouver Canucks X account.
The long awaited meeting!

“Frances is an avid sports fan… and has been a Canucks fan for a long time,” said Jones.
The Save-On-Foods contest applied to the Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, and Winnipeg Jets players.
