Pedestrian hit by car critically hurt: Abbotsford police

Abbotsford police say a 43-year-old pedestrian suffered “critical and life-threatening injuries” after she was hit by a car Friday.

According to investigators, officeres were called to the area of Wheel Avenue and Townline Road just after 7:30 a.m.

When they arrived the woman was found and provided with first aid. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, police add, noting impairment is not believed to be a factor in the crash.

The pedestrian has since been taken to the hospital, where police say she remains in critical condition.

Traffic in the area was shut down to allow police to investigate.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact police at 604-859-5225.
