Mounties in Kelowna would like to find the rightful owners of two high-value items.
Someone dropped off what police say appears to be a genuine Rolex watch at the Kelowna RCMP Regional Detachment Dec. 22. The watch was found outside a restaurant on Water Street near Cawston Avenue earlier that same day.
“Rolex watches are known for their high value, and the Kelowna RCMP would like to reunite this watch with its rightful owner,” said Const. Mike Della-Paolera, media relations officer.
“It appears this one was well cared for and the owner may not be aware it’s missing.”
Then on Dec. 27, someone else brought a multi-diamond engagement ring to the detachment. This item was found on Bertram Street near Lawrence Avenue.
“This ring obviously has great meaning to its owner and appears to be well worn and valuable. The Kelowna RCMP would like to reunite this ring with its rightful home,” Della-Paolera said.
“The ring is very distinct and has a word stamped on the inside.”
The RCMP says it will hold each of these items for 90 days for the owners to come forward to claim them. It is asking the owners to come forward to identify them, and to be prepared to provide evidence of ownership.
